What to Know More About Yourself?

TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS offers a stimulating, clear and systematic theory of personality, interpersonal communication and child development.

T.A. can be used successfully for ourselves, for working with individuals, couples, groups, in organisations and in an educational setting. It is a powerful tool in identifying problems and facilitating change and growth, promoting well-being and health.

The ‘Understanding Human Personality’ course is an introductory course providing an understanding of the philosophy and basic theory underpinning T.A., counselling, psychotherapy, and its applications.

Participants will be introduced to the key concepts such as:

Personality - Ego States
Communication Skills - Transactions
Psychology of recognition - Strokes
Relationship Patterns - Games
Life Patterns - Scripts
Uses of emotion - Rackets.

There will be an opportunity to learn and explore these ideas via teaching and experiential work.

The fully accredited course is open to anyone interested in finding out more about Transactional Analysis and the areas of application.

The course will be particularly helpful to anyone in one of the helping professions, teaching or management who wants to understand more about who they are, what they do and why they do it.

Attendance on these two days will entitle participants to receive an official T.A. 101 Certificate.
The T.A. 101 is a necessary prerequisite for anyone wishing to engage in further T.A. training.

Entry to further training in Transactional Analysis, (which is also available as a five year part-time course at the Bodmin Psychotherapy & Counselling Centre), is usually via the 'Understanding Human Personality' short course and a 'Foundation Year'.
